I've decided to put a copyright on my artwork. I have mixed feelings on copyright - initially copyright was a way for government to restrict free speech, you had to get permission from the state or king to copy print. now, it's often used to protect the 'intellectual property' of corporations, while screwing over the little guy. I do not believe it is the resposibility of the state to protect property, it is the individual's. with the USA merging state and corporate power, and flaunting international conventions, the congress reconsidering 'orphaned works' is disturbing. if a person wants to use my artwork, they can contact me, and we can work out an agreement, but no way in hell do I want a corporation making money off my stuff. deviantART gives the person an option to put that watermark on art, but I think most watermarks are ugly, and make any art they are on ugly. so, I'm going to put a copyright thing on my stuff.

oh, i hope no one thinks me paranoid or petty. granted, the stuff I have on here is not that great, but I hope to have some great stuff in the future, and I hope to make a living on my art.
